Kudos celebrates your culture.
CultureWise builds it every day.
Kudos is a strong recognition and rewards platform, and it says so itself: it is designed to fit the culture you already have. But recognition rewards behavior after it happens. It does not decide which behaviors matter in the first place. CultureWise is the system your whole team runs every week to turn your values into daily behavior.
They celebrate the behavior.
We define it first.
Kudos gives your team a good place to say thank you, and it ties each thank-you to a company value. That is real, and it works. But recognition only fires after someone already knew what good looked like. Deciding what good looks like, and teaching it every week, is a different job.

CultureWise vs Kudos
Kudos is built to recognize good behavior. CultureWise is built to define it, teach it, and keep it running.
| Capability | CultureWise | Kudos |
|---|---|---|
| What it's built to do | Define the behaviors, then build the habit | Recognize and reward good work |
| Where the behavior comes from | Fundamentals you choose on purpose, typically 25–40 | Whatever your people already do |
| Teaches people what good looks like | A lesson a week, with manager coaching | Not what it's built for |
| What keeps it running | A weekly rhythm every manager already runs | Points, rewards and a redemption budget |
| Cost to keep it going year after year | No points, no catalog, about 3 minutes a day | Subscription plus an ongoing rewards budget |
| Who owns it | The CEO and every manager | HR owns the program |
Comparison reflects publicly available information about Kudos. Kudos is a strong recognition and rewards platform; the point is what recognition on its own cannot do.
Practice beats measurement
"Tools alone do not build a culture of recognition – how they are used, and whether they feel personal, timely, and authentic, is what determines their impact."
Incentive Research Foundation, Building a Culture of Recognition, 2025
The recognition industry's own research foundation scored the effectiveness of recognition platforms at 59 out of 100. The platform is not the problem. What it points at is. A recognition tool gives your people somewhere to say thank you, but it cannot tell them which behaviors are worth recognizing, and it cannot teach those behaviors to someone who started last week.
That is the job CultureWise does. You name your Fundamentals, usually 25 to 40 of them, teach one company-wide every week, and coach it through your managers. Recognition then has something specific to point at, and it stops being a feed of nice comments.
Proof it sticks
It's not just words on a wall. It's the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.
The Fundamentals have become second nature. I don't have to force it. That tells me this has stuck.
We were already successful. But the Fundamentals made us better.
It's made the most significant impact to our culture since our founding almost 40 years ago.
A strong culture is not only part of the transformation. It drives it.
CultureWise turned our values into behaviors. Now people know what good looks like.
Common questions
Is CultureWise a recognition platform like Kudos?
No. Kudos gives your team a place to recognize and reward good work. CultureWise decides what good work looks like and teaches it. It does include peer recognition tied to a specific Fundamental, but the recognition is the last step in the system, not the product.
Can we run CultureWise and Kudos at the same time?
Yes, and some companies do. If you already run Kudos, CultureWise gives your people something specific to recognize. When a recognition names the Fundamental behind it, both tools get stronger.
Do we need a rewards budget to run CultureWise?
No. There are no points and no redemption catalog. The weekly rhythm runs inside meetings you already hold, in about three minutes a day, so it does not get cut when budgets tighten.
Who runs CultureWise day to day?
The CEO and every manager. HR often helps administer it, but the system is built so leadership runs the culture rather than delegating it to one department.
How long before we see a difference?
Momentum starts day one, because the first Fundamental goes out in week one. Most companies see a real shift in how people behave within the first few months.
Good companies have good cultures by chance. World-class companies build them by design.
See how CultureWise turns your values into behaviors your team practices every week, and what that does to the recognition your team is already giving.
