Getting Started with CultureWise
New to CultureWise? This walks you through your first login, your profile, and the four places you'll spend your time: today's activity, Kudos!, your Fundamentals, and the leaderboard. Set aside ten minutes and you're up and running.
Before you start
- Watch for your invitation email. Your account starts with an invite to register.
- Have a profile photo handy: JPG or PNG, at least 400 x 400 pixels, under 5 MB.
- Know whether your organization uses Microsoft single sign-on. If it does, you'll sign up with Microsoft instead of creating a password.
1. Create your account
Go to app.culturewise.com/register and enter your email address. Create a password with at least 8 characters, including one uppercase letter and one number or symbol, then confirm it. Check the box to agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions and click Sign up.
Using Microsoft? Choose Sign up with Microsoft instead. Already registered? Use the Sign in link at the bottom of the page.
2. Set up your profile
Make it your own
Click your name in the top right corner and select Profile settings. Upload a photo, confirm your first and last name, add your job title, choose your display language, and set your time zone so reminders arrive at the right time of day.
Your picture shows up alongside every Kudos! you give and receive, and in your team's activity feed. A real face lands better than a set of initials.
Account and contact settings
Scroll further down Profile settings to add a personal email and phone number, pick where your two-factor verification code goes, and choose whether content emails and reminders go to your work or personal address.
Add your personal email and phone first. They stay greyed out as two-factor options until those fields are filled in.
Notifications and Microsoft Teams
Confirm your email preferences, then click Connect MS Teams under Microsoft Teams to bring CultureWise into Teams. Notifications turn on automatically once it's added. Rolling Teams out across the whole organization? Ask your administrator for the Microsoft Teams Integration Guide.
3. Work through today's activity
This is your daily home base. From Home, open the Today's activity tab. Watch or read the QuickTip and click I've read/watched this QuickTip. Work through the Coaching Guide discussion questions and click I've reflected on these questions. Scroll down for the Weekly Insight, and leave a comment or give a Kudos! if something resonates.
A QuickTip earns 10 points and a Coaching Guide 25. Those points roll straight into the leaderboard, so checking in daily adds up faster than you'd expect.
The Dashboard tab shows the current Fundamental and its description, with Team updates on the right so you can see recent comments, likes, and Kudos! from colleagues.
4. Give Kudos!
Click Kudos! in the left navigation, then Give Kudos! Tag the colleague you want to recognize, select which Fundamental their actions reflect, write your story in Share the story (at least 30 characters), and click Post Kudos!
Want help shaping the message? Toggle on Use structured SBI format. It splits your story into two prompts: describe the situation, then explain the impact. Naming the impact is what makes recognition stick. "You stayed late" is an observation. "You stayed late and we kept the client" is something your colleague will remember.
5. Explore your Fundamentals
Click Fundamentals in the left navigation to see the full set in order, with scheduled dates and Current and Upcoming next tags showing where your team is right now. Use the search bar to jump to one by name.
Click any Fundamental to open its four tabs: Description (what it means in practice), Weekly Insight (a perspective from someone on your team), Coaching Guide (discussion questions for team meetings and one-on-ones), and Videos (short clips that bring it to life).
6. Check the leaderboard
Click Leaderboard in the left navigation and open the All points tab to see total points per user. Filter by Date and Active employees to narrow the view, then find your own name to see where you stand.
Cautionary notes
- Fundamentals scheduled for future weeks are open too. If you lead a team, reading ahead gives you time to plan how you'll introduce the next one.
- Your two-factor options stay greyed out until you save a personal email or phone number.
- Points come from participation, so an empty leaderboard row usually means the daily activity hasn't been marked complete.
Tips for efficiency
- Finish your profile in one sitting: photo, job title, and time zone.
- Make today's activity part of your daily routine. A few minutes a day beats an hour once a month.
- Give one Kudos! this week. Recognition is contagious once it starts.
- Need help? Click your name in the top right and select Help center, or ask your organization's administrator about access and account questions.
